For a brief moment, the idea of Stephen Curry and LeBron James sharing the same NBA court as teammates seemed possible. After years of battling in the NBA Finals and later winning Olympic gold together with Team USA, many believed Golden State had a legitimate shot at bringing James to the Bay Area.

Instead, LeBron chose Philadelphia.

Now, Curry and the Warriors are turning their attention to the challenge ahead.

Speaking about the offseason, Curry admitted there was excitement surrounding the possibility of teaming up with James, but he also knows that speculation doesn't win basketball games.

"That's why you don't envision anything until it happens," Curry said. "There's a lot of moving parts."

The Warriors explored every avenue to improve their roster, understanding that Curry's championship window won't stay open forever. Landing James would have immediately created one of the most accomplished duos in NBA history. When that opportunity disappeared, Golden State was forced to shift its focus to the roster already in place.

That leaves the Warriors entering the season with more questions than certainty.

Can Jimmy Butler return to full strength? Will the supporting cast provide enough scoring and consistency? Can Golden State make one more deep playoff run with Curry still playing at an elite level?

Those questions will define the franchise's season.

Despite the disappointment of missing out on James, Curry isn't dwelling on what could have been. His focus remains on competing with the group that's in the locker room. That's been a defining trait throughout his career—looking ahead instead of looking back.

The reality is that Golden State no longer has the margin for error it once enjoyed. The Western Conference continues to get younger, deeper, and more athletic, meaning every roster decision carries even greater importance.

Still, counting out Stephen Curry has rarely been a wise bet.

As long as one of the greatest shooters in NBA history is leading the Warriors, they'll believe they have a chance. Missing out on LeBron James may have changed the conversation around Golden State's championship hopes, but it hasn't changed Curry's mindset.

The mission remains the same: find a way to compete, contend, and chase one more NBA title before one of basketball's greatest careers comes to an end.
