National recognition in high school basketball is earned through consistent production, and AJ Williams continues to prove why he is regarded as one of the premier prospects in the Class of 2028.

The 6-foot-8, 210-pound forward from Eagle's Landing Christian Academy in McDonough, Georgia, has developed into one of the nation's most complete young players. His blend of size, athleticism, skill, and versatility has made him a priority recruit for many of college basketball's top programs.

Williams delivered an outstanding sophomore season, averaging 31.8 points, 12.7 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.9 blocks per game. He also recorded several dominant performances throughout the year, including a 50-point outing that highlighted his ability to take over a game offensively while making an impact on the glass. His production has matched the expectations that come with being one of the country's highest-rated prospects.

What separates Williams is the versatility he brings to every possession.

Offensively, he is comfortable scoring at all three levels. He can create his own shot, attack the rim with confidence, finish through contact, and stretch defenses with his perimeter shooting. His ball-handling ability is advanced for a player his size, allowing him to push the pace in transition and create opportunities for both himself and his teammates.

Defensively, Williams is equally impactful. His length, mobility, and instincts allow him to guard multiple positions, protect the rim, and rebound at a high level. His willingness to compete on both ends of the floor continues to be one of the defining characteristics of his game.

His play has earned scholarship offers from many of the nation's top programs, including North Carolina, Kansas, Auburn, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Louisville, LSU, Maryland, Mississippi State, Texas A&M, Cincinnati, and Miami, with additional high-major programs continuing to monitor his development.

Williams has also proven himself on the international stage, helping Team USA capture the gold medal at the 2025 FIBA U16 AmeriCup. Combined with his success on the Nike EYBL circuit, those experiences have further solidified his reputation as one of the top young talents in the country.

As he continues to develop, Williams possesses all the tools college coaches covet in a modern forward. His combination of size, skill, versatility, and competitive drive makes him one of the most intriguing prospects in high school basketball, and his trajectory suggests his best basketball is still ahead.
